Quilt Festival News!

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Have you heard that Quilts, Inc. is adding another time and location for Quilt Festival?  It will be starting summer of 2008 in Long Beach California.  Read about it here:   http://www.quilts.com  and click on the News link.

Speaking of Festival, Perkins Dry Goods will be in Booth 1919 at the Chicago Festival April 13 - 15.  This is my first retail event and I’m not quite sure what to expect.  I will have patterns for sale and kits for a few of my designs using several Moda lines that I just love!  Miss Molly’s Topper will be available in lavender and yellow from 3 Sisters Santuary line, Sweet Pea (new for Spring) will be kitted in April Cornell’s Poetry line - springy yellow, turquoise and pink.  I’ll have my Zola Back Pack ready in two bright colorways from Spring Fling plus some pillow case kits.  If time cooperates, there will be a few more things in kits like the table runner  and topper from the Argyle Socks pattern.

Quilting Friends

Friday, March 9th, 2007

One of the great things about quilting is the people.  Today, I called a friend on the west coast, who I met at my first market in Kansas City in 2005.  Haven’t talked to Tracy (Plumcute Designs) for six months, but it doesn’t ever seem to matter, catching up happens quickly.  We’ll connect in person again in Salt Lake City this coming May.  I love that there are so many ways to make new quilting friends.  Classes, customers, quilt market, the internet; even at the YMCA!

New Products!

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

I am busy getting ready for both the International Quilt Festival in Chicago and Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. New products are being shipped to the distributors as I type and will be up on the website within the next few weeks. Stay tuned! I think you will like what you see.

I have three new patterns coming out that have some interesting assembly techniques. Magic Squares is a fat quarter friendly project that spans throw through queen sizes. Sweet Pea and Man Quilt use pieced setting triangles to make a simple design look oh so complex! Also in multiple sizes. Last but not least, I developed a seam guide just for quilters! The Perfect Piecing Seam Guide is made from plexiglass and has a scant quarter inch guideline that you can use to set your seam allowance perfectly on any machine.

If you are not familiar with my patterns, they are designed with the emerging quilter in mind. Each pattern is tested before publishing. They go together easily and have pressing instructions to boot!
