Almost Christmas

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

It snowed again last night - how pretty to wake up to snow covered tree branches and fresh white blanketing everything.  I was determined to NOT be out today.  How crazy is that on the Saturday just three days before Christmas?  My sixteen year old daughter had other ideas.  She needed to finish (start) her shopping for siblings and boyfriend.  We survived and better yet, were successful!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the youngest was busy with a Gingerbread house kit - too cute!  Got it at Target.  I’ve never been able to bake the gingerbread and have anything turn out right.  It was worth trying for ten bucks….

The Look

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

OK, I have a problem with decision making.  Plus I don’t know how to personalize my blog-look just yet.  Working on that.  Asked my darling husband for Wordpress for Dummies for Christmas, even spelled it for him.  I was desperate and asked if he had gotten it, I need it NOW.  He got PhotoShop for Dummies, bless his heart.  I don’t havePhotoShop!

This look is most likely temporary, but I do like parts of it!

On to more Christmas prep - Happy Holidays…

Winter Wonders

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

I live in Minnesota.  Some would like to believe that winter here is a challenge.  Maybe it is sometimes.  Not so much though if you have a good pair of gloves and a warm coat.  We had our first storm of the season roll through this past weekend.  Just enough snow to sled on and make everything pretty.  I have to say that I enjoy it as much as a sunny spring day (as long as I’m inside looking out!).

This the view from my front door this morning. The sun just coming over the house.

Because of the snow, I had a great excuse to just stay inside and watch it come down and sew.  Absolute heaven.  Since getting back from market, I’ve been on an organizing kick.  I found a bunch of really old projects when I was going through things and decided to finish them….all!

I had help too.  Rosie, my trusty machine quilting assistant spent her weekend running off with my quilting gloves.  Fortunately, she is a creature of habit and I always know she will hide them near her dish.
