Tutorial: Invisible Binding Finish

One of the things I love to do when I’m finished with a quilt is the binding. When I finally mastered making the end and the beginning invisible, I felt that I had arrived! I thought I would try to show you how I do it:

And there you have it.  Give it a try – it’s easier than you thought.  I just know that’s what you’re thinking !

    Wonderful tutorial. I usually add my binding on, when I am piecing and then sew it onto the back side. Good thing I have no aspirations of winning a ribbon;)

    what a nifty way to do the binding join. I am new to quilting and watched Sue do one on the diagonal and have tried it myself and it actually worked but it was very challenging. I am doing a project today and am going to try your method. thanks

    Thank you for the tutorial on the binding. I have a tool to help me with this but the last 2 times I’ve sewed my binding I’ve managed to stitch the pieces together where one side is flipped over to the wrong side. Maybe I’ll do a little better without the tool.

    Binding is the finishing touch to a big project, whatever the size. Judges always look at the quality of the binding, and blue ribbons have been sacraficed because of the quality or lack of it. This looks like an easier method than any I’ve seen, and I will give it a try in a week or two when my next quilt is ready for this step. Thanks.

    Do you know that this is the worst part for me to put binding on??? This looks sooo much easier than the way I have been trying to do it! Usually, I have to rip it out and re-sew several times before I get it right! I am definitely going to try this the next time I have to put a binding on! Thank you so much!

    Your method is very close to the one I use now. Seeing pictures of Steps 6-8 is what I needed to complete the joining process. I wear the ends out twisting and turning them before I finally get them together right.
